A trip to the Zoo and Botanical Garden

I guess this post would be of most interest to Shubha :-) Especially considering her love for plans and animals. So this post is dedicated for her...

First up: The pitcher plant...
So I don't know how many of you have seen it in person, but I had never seen a pitcher plant. I had only heard about it and knew that it trapped and ate insects. This was the first time I saw a pitcher plant in person and thought I would share the image with you guys!

Second: The posing squirrel...
This squirrel was spotted around the botanical garden. I think it was clear that the squirrel had some attention deficiency. It seemed like no one cared to take pictures of the poor guy esp when biggies like the pitcher plant etc were soaking up the limelight.
Why I say this???? Well because of all the squirrels I have seen (which are like millions in my univ campus), this one was the only guy who didn't run away when I was taking a picture. In fact, it turned around to face me after my first click!

Posing for me :-)

Third: Sleepy Animals at zoo..
It clearly seems like I showed up in the Zoo at nap time.. you can see that the tortoise is yawning away and the polar bear is all cuddled up and snoozing..

Well, though most of the animals were sleeping, I only saw the penguins who were up and alert. And it seems like they were alert due to a 'odd one out' who had flew into their space ;-)

It seemed as if the penguins in the back were gossiping away asking each other "Do you know who that is???" "Is that a seagull???" "Will he be staying here??"

In the second pic, its almost as if the penguin is wondering about the seagull and staring away... :-)

Well, these were the shots I got. :-)

Hope you enjoyed this random post and hope to see some random posts from you guys too!
